patak-dev/README.md

Hi there 👋

Hey! My name is Matias Capeletto. I'm an indepenent Open Source developer. Your support means a lot to me, and allows me to focus on helping the ecosystem wherever I see a good opportunity. Thank you!

If you work for a company, and have doubts about what it means to sponsor me taking one of the top tiers, please reach out and let's talk on bluesky @patak.dev or discord. Support from companies is fundamental for independent Open Source developers, and ensure I'll will be able to continue working on npmx and other projects long-term.

I'm one of the Project Stewards of npmx, together with Daniel Roe. We're building a modern browser for the npm registry with an ever growing community of kind souls. We've made a lot of progress in a very short amount of time, and we have big plans for the project. Apart from helping define the long-term vision and direction of the project, I'm focused on fostering the healthy grow of our community and on outreach efforts. I'm working to encourage others to participate, helping them get started, and making sure our team has all the resources they need to have a great open source experience while building npmx.

I'm also part of the e18e community. I helped James, and other incredible open source giants, build a healthy community from where to improve the performance of the whole JavaScript ecosystem. The Ecosystem Performance (e18e) efforts play now a fundamental role on npmx, helping us guide users to avoid choose modern libraries where there are better alternatives. You'll see me around trying to help improve the bridges that we've built between npmx and e18e.

You may also know me from other projects in the ecosystem. I'm was the first to join the Vite team, together with Anthony Fu. We also started together Vitest. You can see the story of our adventures during the first five years of the Vite Ecosystem in the Vite Documentary. We also built Elk, a Mastodon client together with Daniel, Anthony, Kevin, and other awesome folks.
