This is happening already (quite a bit!), but it requires a trusted party to hold the coldkey and something like https://github.com/backend-developers-ltd/bittensor-panel?tab=readme-ov-file#bittensor-panel to manage hyperparameters. I'm not sure how it could be supported natively by the chain (other than multisign / proxy pallet), do you have an idea on how this could look like? |

Hello @ppolewicz the idea is to have a custom pallet owning the subnet for loan duration. At the end of the loan, the subnet ownership will be transferred to the one that initiated the loan, making it possible for the pool to distribute the emissions owner cut to the correct contributors directly in TAO. It will allow people to build upon with smart contracts for DAO or with apps. I'm working on a prototype and will update the BITS later (probably next week) with some code. |
The high upfront cost of creating a subnet can deter many users, stifling innovation on Bit Tensor by favoring those with deep pockets or strong networks. To address this, we propose a lending mechanism where a pool of token holders funds the initial subnet creation fee, recouping their investment over time through a share of the subnet owner’s emissions, as agreed upon for a set period.
