Hi @kethan1 thanks for this contribution. What would you think about somehow merging this with @pjeanjean #144 pull request, but displaying this information but in the exception message rather than in the doc (that people read infrequently)? This way, when the exception occurs, the user would be pointed at one of the most probable reasons.
We even can add this FAQ to the https://wiki.videolan.org/Python_bindings/#Win32_initialization wiki page and give a pointer to it for more information.

I think that is a good solution. It provides the user with information, instead of leaving them with an error that they are scratching their heads about :). Do you want me to close this issue??
