I've used to Running that Not really sure how to debug this... |
Running it with |
My AI friend says to try (but it seems that is an hallucination 😞 ) |
I have that same friend and tried that, didn't work :-D Based on that gdb output, he's saying:
PyO3/maturin#758 looks kinda similar, but not sure there's much helpful stuff in there (it's also ancient). Maybe open an issue upstream with |
I've debugged this a bit more, and it was also discussed on Slack, here's a short summary:
So it's something in Rust 1.88.0 that results in a broken maturin on a64fx. Hopefully, we can find which change in 1.89.0 solved this, and make a patch. |
@bedroge Why don't we just bump the Rust version that's used as build dependency I see no downside in that, and it won't cause trouble somewhere else, |
I was hoping to narrow it down a bit more, but maybe that's a bit of a dead end / waste of effort anyway. What you propose should indeed work, and is much easier, so let me try that. |

@Neves-P We first need to get EESSI/software-layer-scripts#159 merged, otherwise it will still use the older Rust version. bot:cancel jobid:946946 edit: ah, not allowed to do it that way: |
